Degumming Clay

Degumming clay is used at the beginning of a hot scrub, resulting in needing less absorbents in the follow up process. The oil will have less gums making the absorbents more effective. Degumming clay has a low pH of 2.5, but can be used in very small quantities so as to avoid excessive acidity.
